Production
The directors, John Ellis and Darcy
Hoover, produced the film in the "true" spirit of independent film making.
They accomplished the impossible by shooting the
film in only four days, with a budget of $15,000 ($7,986 US) "Dinner's on
the Table" was processed, edited and sound mixed for about one thirtieth of
the price of what is considered to be a "no-budget" movie. It took three years
to go from conception to its premiere at the Montreal International Film Festival.

Some people have a
preconceived opinion towards films made on an ultra-low budget. They fear
these films will either be a poor attempt at making a larger budget movie,
or hard to understand due to the self-indulgence of the filmmaker. This isn't
the case with "Dinner's on the Table".
The film is in
a class by itself. It pushes content and style to extremes, making for a fresh
and energetic mix of comedy and social satire.
So why not sit down and make
yourself comfortable because "Dinner's on the Table" ... and it's HOT!
